Short but sweet

For weeks, Jimmy has really been looking forward to going to Savannah for the KA Convivium, and getting to spend some time with his old college friends. This group bonded around 1961, and their friendships even strenghthened over the ensuing years.

Jimmy and I arrived on Tybee Island, where we were all staying, late Friday afternoon, and went out to dinner, but by Saturday morning, Jimmy had laryngitis, an ear was draining, and he felt terrible. So we got in the car and came home in the pouring rain.

Our television has been often tuned to a news channel today, and watching the horrors and suffering in Haiti, I almost deleted this. Our own personal little ups and downs seem so... strikingly insignificant, and I am humbled anew by the magnitude of all of our many blessings.
